Welcome to the Hotel Balifornia
Celine and I decided to spend a week in Bali while I was visiting Southeast Asia. It’s only a 5 hour plane ride away from Bangkok and I’ve always wanted to go (yes, it may have had something to do with Eat Pray Love). Our first stop was Ubud – a beautiful, green city filled with water temples, good spirit, and yoga. I never wanted to leave! Ubud is probably most famous for the gorgeous Tegallalang Rice Terrace – rows of layered rice paddies set up in an almost maze-like fashion for tourists to trek through and take pictures. This was one of my favorite parts of Bali – a must-visit, for sure! Next, we stayed in Sanur Beach, a cute Bali beach town not too far from the airport. I celebrated my birthday while we were there, and started off my 23rd year of life with sunrise rooftop yoga – is there a better way to celebrate? In addition to the beautiful beach where we swam, tanned, and biked, we loved all the adorable cafes we tried in Sanur. They all had absolutely amazing food – so many smoothie bowls, fresh juices, and healthy fare at our favorites: Dusk Blue and Soul in a Bowl. We also found a Mexican restaurant called Jalapeño that we were obsessed with! Seriously, I think we went like five times in the four days we were in Sanur!
