Stop 6: San Antonio
Filled to the brim with barbecue, we rolled in to San Antonio. I’m pretty sure our poor minivan was heavily hanging pretty low to the road at this point on our trip! We stayed in the downtown Riverwalk area, which was a bit touristy, but a central location very close to the Alamo which was perfect for a first time visitor. It was neat to see all the restaurants and hotels along the river, but we walked on the path away from the tourist traps and up to the new Pearl Brewery area, thanks to a recommendation from a local. San Antonio has basically transformed an old, deserted brewery into a really cool outdoor space filled with hip restaurants and a gorgeous hotel along the river - so darn cool! Of course, I had to take a picture at the “I Love Tacos” wall. Then, (to fully prove my love) we got tacos for dinner at La Gloria. The prickly pear margaritas were so refreshing after a long walk and the tacos were divine. Before heading back to our hotel, we stopped for lavender crumble ice cream (yes, I’m lavender obsessed) at Lick, a super tasty local ice cream spot.
